PG&E Rates are currently $0.46 per kWh. However, depending on your electric plan, you can be paying more or less than that rate. Solar rates vary based on your house with the average solar financed plan at $0.26 per kWh
This plan is best for low energy users as PG&E charges you 10% less ($0.43) if your usage is below the average, and 20% more ($0.53) for all power used above the average.
This plan is the most common plan chosen for families. PG&E charges more for power used from 5-8pm. In the summer (June-Sept) it is 30% more, and 10% more for power in the Winter. (TOU-D)
This plan is a combo of Time of Use 1 & Tiered Rate. Typically best for retired people. Peak hours are from 4-9pm with big fees for using too much power. (TOU-C)
This plan is best for people who's main usage is charging their car. PG&E offers a 20% discount for overnight charging, and they upcharge 40-70% for usage during 4-9pm in the Summer.
This plan is best for people who do not use the AC much. PG&E charges 10-20% less almost all year round, but they charge 40% more for Summer usage from 4-9pm.
This plan involves Solar with a Battery. Best for homeowners using over 250 kWh per month. Net metering through PG&E provides a 40% discount from standard PG&E rates. No cost to switch.
